The kids had a full day of school. R. did not work. He finished packing. We got everything collected downstairs. The sitter took T. bowling and to dinner at Julie's. We fed A. some chicken nuggets and I had a bagel and cole slaw.
The driver picked us up at 6. There was a little traffic, but not too bad. Earlier, the airport had been very crowded, but it wasn't when we arrived and we had plenty of time. I bought A. three stuffies at New England Collectibles? Or something like that, but didn’t realize it wasn’t a Hudson News so when I saw the charge go by (I had planned on cash until I saw the over $30 total) I didn’t recognize it and called to find out what it was. *Sigh* I am so programmed to think everything is fraud right now.
No trouble checking the soft sided cooler (which I packed T.'s hiking boots, A.'s sneakers, some gallon ziplock bags, shopping bags and pads in) and R.’s bag. No trouble at security. Mint was great. I had one of the drinks with whisky and one without before takeoff, and another with whisky at dinner. Only one of the small plates had no milk products, the ahi tuni with quinoa salad, fennel and onion. I think I had that last year. It is still good. Roll and olive oil. A. slept a couple hours then got really excited and kept poking at me with questions. I plugged her into the IFE system and she watched an episode of Tangled.
Las Vegas has a _very_ offsite rental car center. Similar to Seattle, but a longer drive. NO cars at National, but they found a Dodge Grand Caravan somewhere. We had a terrible time figuring out how to turn off the map lights, but the guy at the exit helped us out. Apparently we need more experience driving different kinds of cars! It _was_ really late, too.
No trouble checking into the Residence Inn Green Valley in Henderson. Unfortunately, it is now under the flight path for the 3rd runway. Oops. And the pool is outdoors. We got in around 2 a.m. (lost time due to checked bags and the rental car).
