I took T. to track. I had a lovely time chatting with B. I bought her son B.'s calendar -- it is really nice! After track, we went home. I had forgotten my tea, and T. wanted to change clothes at home for the horse. First time in forever! We went to Applebee's. Then we had some time, so we went to Famous Footwear and got him some sneakers and a pair of waterproof hiking boots, all in Wide (9 for the Nikes, and the Columbias were not available in 9 so we got 9.5). Then we went to Kohl's, where I got a bunch of T-shirts and some pants and a pullover Patriots sweatshirt for T. While we were there, his stomach was rumbling and he was burping and uncomfortable. By the time it was time to go the horse, he was in a lot of pain. So we canceled the horse (sigh), went home, R. gave him some Tums and Gas-X and he was fine. He was taking his bath while I went for a walk with M. During the 25 minutes, give or take, that I was gone, he threw up (twice, I think, and that wasn't the end of it). So, probably a good thing I canceled the horse. Because gas-x clearly did not actually fix whatever was going on, even tho it made him less uncomfortable.
As the lone person in the house with an appendix, I'm sort of wondering if I'm going to be driving him down to Emerson at 3 a.m. to be checked out for that. But so far, it is just acting like a pretty normal stomach bug. Here's hoping it was something he ate, because we eat completely different things. If it was noro and he picked it up by coming in contact with something, this could be a wild few days while the rest of us come down with it.
After track, on the way home, he was complaining about pain in his mouth, along the gum behind his back teeth. It _could_ be 12 year molars coming it. OTOH, it could _also_ be related to the ear pain he was having on the same side a few days ago, and thus another symptom of the head cold / flu that he has had with all the accompanying congestion. For that matter, the vomiting could be related to the flu bug he has had -- that's fairly common in kids altho less common in adults.
