Everyone arrived the night before, but quite late and tired, so I didn’t see anyone in person until today. I took T. to martial arts, then we went back home. We met my sister and her family at the house and caravaned over. There was a lot of slushy snow on the road still. We had a nice lunch at the Horseshoe in Hudson; the kids got a picture with Santa and the staff were all in PJs. It was awesome. My cousins met us there.
After lunch, we went back to the house, and the 3 adult women went to Whole Foods to do the Big Shop for the two holiday dinners. After that, we stopped at the liquor store to get things for the bar and also a present for friends who would be dropping off a gift for one of the kids later on (missed handoff at R.’s work, and the other person was headed to the airport to pick up his family anyway. They were all late due to ice and so forth).
Finally, we set up a cold cuts platter and opened a bottle of wine and made drinks. It was a great beginning to the holidays.
