I took T. to martial arts. His regular instructor was not there, so an assistant was working with T. T. and I talked about this after, because T. can get upset when things don't go the way he expected. I think he started to understand a little better, and he is certainly trying hard to be flexible.

Track at Concord was canceled, so I took T. home, where we had lunch. Then R. took T. to Boylston for track there. At 5, the babysitter came over so R. and I could go to Longmeadow for R.'s 35th year high school reunion.

I had very nice phone calls with two cousins who I haven't seen in a long time. I tried to meet up with them last April, but it didn't work out. I am hoping that as a result of reconnecting, the next time I am in Seattle, we'll actually get to see each other. Overcoming the long term effects of religious rifts in a family is a chunk of work, and for a variety of reasons, it can't be done all at once -- there seem to inevitably be long lapses of contact. I still think it is worth doing.

B. got up before my sister R. and relayed the news so she didn't find it via FB. We had several conversations. I'm always amazed by how great she is in this kind of crazy family nonsense situation.
