Monday's Activities Include: no sitter, McDonald's, walk, vacation planning

T.'s sitter is out for the week (this has been planned for a while). So both kids are hanging about after school, which is kind of fun. I was going to drag them up to Nashua to go to Fun World and pick up the jacket that T. left at the dentist last week, but Fun World is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the school year so maybe we'll go Wednesday instead. I took them out for an early dinner at McDonald's instead, because T. wanted the Happy Meal Ninjago toy. We talked about the movie, which T. has seen but which A. has not, and we'll probably go see that later in the week, too.

I got a walk with M. in the morning.

I did some vacation planning with T. in the afternoon and evening; we're going to go to Yellowstone next summer, which is exciting. Obviously, the kids have never been, and we're going with my sister's family and they have never been either. When I went, it was a late fall trip with someone who was far from ideal as a road trip companion (okay, honesty here: it ended the friendship, and led to me basically having a rule of Only Road Trip Alone for quite a while thereafter). We did some day hikes and looked at Old Faithful and the lake that drove around and that was it. This time, we're going to split our time between Grand Teton and Yellowstone, and we have some scheduled activities (horseback riding, a boat tour of the lake, stuff like that).
