A. gets homework; T. does not. For most of the year, that has been a math worksheet plus 15 minutes of reading a day. Lately, there has also been a "Fundations" sheet. Today's fundations sheet involved v-e markups. I know a lot of people complain about how things are taught differently now than when we were children, but wow, I just have to say that a lot of the things they are teaching my kid in school would have really helped kids I remember struggling with reading. Also, for all that I have always been a big believer in phonics, both my kids are sight readers and quite awful at using phonics to sound things out. I don't see how this is their fault; I blame our language. And I say this from the perspective of knowing enough about spelling in other languages to have a legit basis for comparison.
