I spent a large chunk of the day in bed, because dinner the night before really upset my stomach again. Apparently I needed a day or more at the toast and crackers level of eating before advancing to a burger, fries and a manhattan.
R. and T. went to BMW and finally got the sticker for the i3. Looks like the real reason emissions failed is because when they did the software update, they flashed away all the emissions data that the car collects on itself while it is running. So the car wasn't actually failing the emissions test in terms of producing blue smoke or similar; it just didn't have the logged data it needed. If they had done the emissions first and then the software update, it may well have passed, which makes me ... unhappy.
