This is so stupid.

She pumped and dumped over one glass of wine and she believes if you're too drunk to drive, you're too drunk to nurse.

Idiot.

Now, to be fair, she stopped drinking when she started trying to conceive. This is _really_ important to do and a lot of people don't. The one time gestationally when one binge can cause lasting harm to a baby is during that before-you-know-you-are phase.

What to make of this, tho:

"They say that if you’re too drunk to drive, you’re too drunk to nurse. Seems like a pretty good rule to me. And so I limit my intake to a small glass of wine immediately after nursing her and that’s pretty much it.

Is that it? I’m 33. It baffles me to think that I won’t be good and drunk again until I’m 50."

I gotta say, I'm all about the boobage, but nursing for _17 years_? No thank you.

With Gupta out, rumor has it Howard Dean might get the gig.

It's kind of a suck job generally, but it can be used as a platform to initiate major change. And boy howdy, with healthcare reform on the table, this could become very interesting. I wish I knew how Dean felt about the White River Junction guys. If he's totally sold on him, and Dean got the job, the world could rapidly become a much, much better place.

And cheaper, too.

Very informative, both in terms of how DRM is handled, what the feature set is on the app, etc. It had not occurred to me that Amazon had limited the font selection on the kindle in order to further reduce eyestrain; now, I suspect they did.

The most informative aspect, however, is the author's discussion of how he disables one-click for book purchases and likes the slow-himself-down factor of buying through fictionwise. A completely legitimate description -- and a completely legitimate strategy for a consumer.

For the seller, however, it sure makes the kindle combination of features make a lot of sense.

That link makes it pretty clear what that's all about. The analysis is not wholly
unreasonable.

Here's why I'm bringing it up:

"And its non-backlit e-ink display is far easier on the eyes than the iPhone's backlit screen, particularly if you plan to read for an hour or two."

Fairly clear that they think reading for an hour or two is a long time, compared to whatever they're doing on a backlit screen.

I just find this entertaining.
