Wednesday: The Tack Room

It was date night, so R. and I tried The Tack Room, a new (month old) restaurant in Lincoln. It is _phenomenal_. Our server was a delight. The drinks were amazing (I had a Tack and Rye and a Triple Crown). The selection of beer on tap was incredible. I wanted the PEI mussels, but they involved a ton of dairy. They made a dairy-free mussel dish for me that was wonderful. The chicken wings (required no mod for dairy issues) were _incredible_. They are, indeed, huge. R.’s chicken was great. My house salad (vegan) was excellent.
I just want to note that the chicken at The Tack Room was really unusually good. Juicy, with perfectly crinkly skin. I want to try other things on the menu when I go back, but it is going to be tough to convince myself to do that. We’ve gotten good enough at home cooking that it takes more for a restaurant to impress us; air fryered chicken is so good, that it makes a fair amount of restaurant chicken a disappointment. But not this chicken. I just can’t even convey how good it all was.
I mean, absolutely all fantastic. I am very excited to return.
Also, I took a nap in the morning which was really pleasant, and went to bed early. I had a great convo with J. I. went to trivia, so we didn’t have our evening zoom, so I turned in early.
