walkitoutI bought two artificial trees, one purple for my office and one pink for A.’s room, because I felt like this past holiday season was the correct one to really go over the top for. So to speak. We still had our usual natural tree (may it decompose in peace), and the earlier artificial tree. We took the downstairs trees down months ago, but I left the colorful ones up For the Duration.
And now, as I approach second shot + 2 weeks for me (Thursday) and as we await the kids’ second shots, I have decided that The Duration is Ending. So I took the purple tree down and tucked it away for a few months to await its return the Saturday after T-day. I will consult with A. later on whether she wants to leave her tree up or take it down.
I finally cleared the cards off the mantel and the swag a few days ago, so I think all that is left is the Joy entry mat.
A. is currently All Caught Up on school work. After the April trip, I basically ignored her school work for a few weeks, but she just kept getting further behind and more distressed about it. I’m not overjoyed about how things are going. She is profoundly avoidant AND stressed out about it not being done, which is very, very toxic combination.
