Lots of Snow

walkitoutThere is a lot of snow for Groundhog Day. So, whatever that means.
I have started assembling the Lego White House (architecture series). It is not particularly huge. It’s nice to not have negative feelings about the White House again.
After hours earnings announcement from Amazon, along with Bezos transitioning to “Executive Chair”, and Jassy becoming CEO. The timing is probably a surprise? At least I was not expecting it, and lots of people started talking about it so presumably they were also somewhat surprised. That he is stepping back is unsurprising; he has lots of other stuff he works on (WaPo, Blue Origin), and the role he will have going forward, as always, lets him define what he does and how he does it. Lots of speculation about that — I have to wonder if he might take a more detailed interest in getting Amazon to be climate neutral. That’s where my thoughts are with many things now (obviously, getting through the pandemic and mopping up the dumpster fire of the last four years are a more immediate priority).
That story was apparently big enough to distract from All Meme Stock All The Time, so that’s something.
I’m trying to figure out if I want to say anything more about the meme stock thing. I mean, obviously, duh, anything that says it is like 4chan stay away. Equally, anything that had Shkreli as a moderator, double stay away. And 9(a)2. I guess there is some looking into bots on WallStreetBets now? I dunno. That would be kind of hilarious in its own way. The robot revolution. *sigh*
Amazon has a tipping related scandal in progress with its Flex drivers (own vehicle delivery); they reduced their contribution when there was a tip. Sleazy. Is there like a B-school class that teaches people how to do this? Because I swear every megacorp ever manages to fall into this PR disaster at some point.
