Merry Christmas!
Dec. 25th, 2020 01:26 pmNo, we are not traveling. I am not totally sure why I did not blog the last couple of days, and will go back later today and fill in. Probably I was a lot busier than I realized.
I’ve started today’s Zoom Open House, but no one has showed up in the first hour and a half. Glad I did not start it earlier?
It’s rainy and warm — 60 degrees, plus or minus. The snow is eroding rapidly. I don’t miss it, honestly; it interferes with my long walks after dark.
The ham and root veg (carrots, parsnips and celery root) are wrapped in foil and in the oven; it is very festive in there, all shiny and mysterious!
I’m planning on making a pineapple upside down cake. I have two fresh pineapples, neither of which is really ripe, and a cap of pineapple rings. I had hoped to use a fresh pineapple, but I am thinking it is going to be the can.
I transitioned the lego wreath from its Hang On the Wall configuration to its Sit On a Table configuration. That was not as tricky as I had feared.
ETA:
No one showed up for the first many hours, but we eventually got to see a variety of friends and family on the zoom. The ham, pineapple sauce, root vegetables and pineapple upside down cake were all awesome. The cranberry sauce I made a few weeks ago was awesome on the ham as well. And the cole slaw was good. The kids and I played Exploding Kittens. It was a very pleasant day.
I had an indoor visit but no walk with M. It rained all day, altho the temperature did eventually drop.
