Wednesday: birthday party, date night

walkitoutWe had an early dinner on the patio at the Horseshoe. Note to self: never order a second manhattan there! They really do not do anything other than put chilled whiskey in a chilled glass and the glass is not small. Second drink was deeply foolish and I regretted it. I ordered the pretzel, and a kraut salat off the Oktoberfest menu; they were delicious and I have leftovers.
After dinner, R. and I did the 3 mile walk together. He realized much later that he should have changed his shoes first. Ooops.
Upon my return home, I started Priestess’ zoom birthday party! It was scheduled to run for an hour, but the conversation was such a delight (I mostly listened, but occasionally contributed) that I had no desire to end it for 2, and then ultimately let it run for three. Sooooo glad I pay for zoom so I can host things like this. I was feeling much better by the end of the party, which I enjoyed almost entirely curled up in bed — further benefits of zoom parties!
