This last week, NPR had an article about Israel’s attempt to reopen schools. It went OK. Oh, wait, no it really did not, and now they are closing back up again in the face of broad transmission within the schools.

Also this last week, WaPo had an article about everyone else’s efforts to reopen schools. It conspicuously does not mention Israel.

There are a lot of reasons to scratch one’s head and feel confusion about editorial choices. That is an understatement: this is the week that NYT chose to publish an absolutely reprehensible op-ed by a Senator advocating for the use of military force in cities around the United States. After doubling down initially on the choice to do that, we got this: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/04/business/new-york-times-op-ed-cotton.html.

I could have made this A Few Remarks About, but I am going to go have breakfast and a walk and see if that modifies my perspective. I really hope it does, because I am feeling pretty fucking bleak right now.
