Monday: official school! Zoom book group!
Apr. 6th, 2020 11:00 pmToday was official school! It went basically a lot like the transition period. Yay!
A. has more reading assignments now. We had been doing a chapter a day while she did the treadmill (I read to her) of Snow Treasure (still are). I read her the first chapter of Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle to her today and sold it pretty hard; she did a great job on the reading prompt (adjectives to describe a character).
We had leftovers for lunch and dinner. I had a meatball sandwich (mmmm) for lunch and made rice and beans for dinner.
I did a test meeting in Zoom with A. (friend, not daughter or cousin). Then we had book group! 5 people in attendance! We had a nice discussion of _Rules of Civility_ by Amor Towles, learned a little bit more about how to use Zoom, talked about what we wanted from book group going forward. We set the next meeting date and book. It is so nice to get to do things that one is accustomed to looking forward to. It is not the same, but it is good nonetheless.
