Today was early release for both kids, because it was A.’s last day of school. She is extremely happy but, disappointingly, already extremely bored. We have plans starting tomorrow, but nothing really for this afternoon/evening.

She brought home a tiny vase with three fake flowers in it, held in place with a cylinder of foam with a whole in it. She took the flowers out and then wanted to get the foam support out. Tricky! Everything I could think of would have been destructive of the vase, the foam, or both, unless R. had some sort of tool that might fit through the narrow neck, grab and pull it back out.

And then I thought, aha! Chopsticks! I got it out. I am impressed with myself.

We also decluttered her leggings. That was a bit of a chore, but now she has a much less full drawer where she can actually find the leggings which currently fit. Which is a huge improvement over sorting through the more than two dozen leggings which no longer fit. We also decluttered a couple hats that were in there, too.

ETA: Today in Spirit Week, it was fancy day. She wore a pair of shorts, a white cami, and a silk tank top I dug out of a bin in the basement. I think I bought it on Kauai or Maui. The dress I bought at the same shop requires her to be somewhat taller than she currently is, so it went back into the bin.

I would have used a Kelly clamp (also known as hemostatic forceps). They were invented for medical use, obviously, but are extremely handy around the house.
