I took T. to track.
M. came for a visit.
The SunBasket box arrived (first in a while) and we cooked the orange glazed chicken with broccoli rabe and carrots. I feel All Caught Up on greens for a while. That was a lot of broccoli rabe.
The final mattress encasement arrived, altho I still haven’t made or used that bed yet. But all the pillows in the affected rooms are now encased and the mattresses and I have to say, wow, these are so helpful for allergies! Not that I would advocate discovering this in this particular way. No crinkly awfulness. These are like regular fabric, almost.
I called Terminix and scheduled a visit for tomorrow for a free assessment. Still haven’t caught any bugs in the many interceptors.
In an effort to improve the chances of catching a bug in the interceptor trap(s), I found a place that would sell me dry ice. It is, literally, called Acme Ice Company! For $14, R. got 6 pounds of dry ice. He set up bait with it in insulated drink cups in interceptors in the master bedroom and A.’s room. I don’t know whether I hope to catch something or hope not to catch anything.
I took T. to an open house on Martin Street. The real estate agent running the open house turned out to be the grandmother of one of T.’s classmates from when he was in the AB district preschool. That was kind of cool — I’d met the woman’s daughter-in-law when we were both on a panel for a continuing education thing a couple years ago. Nice people — really great extended family, and nice to meet another member of it. This kind of thing makes me feel like I really do live here, as opposed to, “I’m from Seattle. Actually, I grew up in Shoreline.” If I wander around and chat with someone and we turn out to know people in common, I must be local, right?
School for Monday was canceled in the evening for both kids. I rescheduled the tea, and canceled Dutch as well. I’ll wait to figure out about book group tomorrow when I see what actually lands on the ground.
