There is white stuff. I have shoveled the driveway. Twice. I should have had R. get the blower out. Our neighbor across the street was using his. On the one hand, exercise? And the snow is light, and the total was probably 2 inches. On the other hand, once it hits two inches, the snowblower makes quick work of it. And I didn't strictly speaking need to get quite that much exercise today; I got my 4 miles in already.

No school closings announced yet, and there isn't supposed to be much more precipitation, however, the roads are quite wet, and when I was shoveling the first time I noticed that the ground was warm enough that it was somewhat slushy at the bottom layer. By the second time, it had gotten colder and dryer. If there's a lot of ice, or if they don't get around to clearing sidewalks, or if the schools experience outages, there's a chance one of the towns might decide, hey, it's a half day anyway (for Littleton), who really cares/why bother. They are also starting to take cold + wind a lot more seriously (some of the local schools are deciding indoor vs outdoor recess based on that combination on ordinary days), and tomorrow is due to be somewhat cold and very windy.

The NWS for Boston has already issued a wind advisory through 5 p.m. tomorrow, and a black ice warning as well.

"WINDS... WEST 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH."

"TRAVELERS THIS EVENING... AND TOMORROW MORNING... SHOULD BE WARY OF SLIPPERY SPOTS."
