Well, we haven't used it as anything other than a player yet, but I can put the discs from my friend B. in it and watch the on the TV, instead of having to watch them huddled in front of the laptop. And it's pretty.

I just now realized I should have bought two RCA-balanced cords. Oops.

Congrats on getting a DVR without the TV Guide Online interface, which is the most annoying thing ever (and yet most models force you to use it, argh).
