Today's Project: a mail folder

walkitoutSome time in 2009, I started planning our first trip to WDW. I created a new mail folder for email associated with that trip, and then just reused it without deleting the old mails for subsequent trips. I noticed the other day that there was ... a lot of email in there, and then it occurred to me that I could use this to actually assemble exactly who went with us on which trip when -- it's sad how fast the details fall out of my increasingly porous brain. So I pulled up a doc on google docs and I started going through the email, transferring information and then writing other things that I remembered along the way. I'm up to 2013, and 5 pages in. Ouch. Good news! I deleted several dozen messages.
ETA: This thing has really turned into a monster. I've got links to albums over on flickr, links into LJ, the stuff from the mail folder. I still need to finish going through the mail folder and do 2014 in LJ, but it's already at 14 pages. Yeesh.
On some level, I'm thinking of just turning this into Family Vacations, because I've already shoved in a couple Cape Cod trips and Efteling, because of connections to the Disney trips. And honestly, if I stick in Storyland (there's some of that in already) and Hershey, that's nearly everything anyway. The result would essentially be a picture- and blog- linked timeline of all the family vacations we took starting in 2009. With a little effort, I could probably back track to T.'s birth, or maybe even back to the Netherlands trip R. and I took before we got married.
