There's another shoe waiting to drop here, and I don't know what it is, but I find it suspicious that Apple suddenly doesn't care about this right around the same time they're gearing up for iCloud. There's gotta be some upside they see there - maybe they're going to enable content providers to do in-cloud stuff, but only if they pay the Apple cut?
