Honey Pot Plot by Mayer and Crusie
Aug. 21st, 2025 09:28 pmThis wraps up the Rocky Start trilogy, and it’s really had a substantial body count right from the start but boy a lot more bodies here.
Mayer and Crusie have a lot of romantic couples, some of whom get happy by the end of the series, some of whom don’t survive the series, and some of whom survive but have taken quite a lot of damage over the course of the series. The Serena / Junior Stafford developments in the third book are quite amazing, with a deeply satisfying ending. (ETA because that could have been confusing: Serena is junior’s mom. They are not a romantic couple.)
I feel like this particular series might actually merit rereading, because there’s a lot of complex foreshadowing all over the place, and I suspect there was even more in Rose’s artwork than I caught at the time. Good stuff!
