Snack review: Eat to Heal Peanut Butter
Apr. 25th, 2025 10:37 amI am experimenting with commercial snack options of the Could Be Breakfast or a Mini-Meal variety. A lot of the choices in this space that are high protein are full of whey protein and thus don’t work for me. Many choices have a lot of sodium, which make them problematic for me. I do always have the option of making my own, or bringing “real food”, but the shelf-stable feature of commercial snacks is appealing.
Today’s experiment is “Eat to Heal”, Peanut Butter (I got a variety pack, so I’ll be coming back to this brand). No sodium at all, so that “refrigerate on arrival” on the box looks less ridiculous now that I realize this. I did not refrigerate them on arrival. Also, the shelf-stability of these option is now an interesting question. It has a lot of the usual suspects in it (oats, dates), the titular peanut butter and only one other ingredient (coconut oil). So, it definitely wins for anyone looking for short ingredients lists. If you are thinking, just bring your own dates, nuts, peanuts, sure, you’re not wrong. This is Fancy Gorp in a bar. It’s ground pretty fine, resulting in something that is a little too gritty to be smooth, but definitely is not chunky. I would 100% eat this many more times. It isn’t even boring, and it’s very satisfying at over 300 calories.
