No phone call last night with K., which is of course sad altho it did mean I finished reading _Sweep of the Heart_ at 1 am instead of, I don’t know, like 2 or 4 or something instead.
I walked with M.
I’ve been scraping at the driveway, but it has been so cold that even trying to time it to the warmest time of day isn’t really helping a lot.
I’m still getting the occasional address to send a card to, and I ordered gifts for 3 more people today: a niece, a nephew and, surprise! My husband is actually getting a present.
The nephew wanted to be able to sharpen his kitchen knife. I pulled out the Edge Pro Apex, consulted with R., offered it to the nephew who correctly declined it as overkill. So I ordered him a stone — a really nice one! And then R., when offered the really nice stone, declined, and asked for some DMT Dia-Sharps instead. I did some additional research, asked him if he wanted portability (3”) or larger (6 or 8 inch), and he went with 8 inch, so I ordered him 4 on Amazon. Here’s hoping they fulfill on that correctly.
I also got the nephew some spices and a grinder, and when his sister found out, she asked for vanilla beans. If you are a young person with taste, I gotta say asking for spices from someone who will buy the nice stuff is a brilliant idea. Spices are expensive and the money is worth it, and also, it can be kind of a lot.
