Wednesday: lunch
Oct. 19th, 2022 10:56 pmI went out to lunch with M. from bookgroup and her husband D. It turns out he is a member of the telescope cult. Very nice! We went to Tavern on the Square at The Point. I had the foresight to bring along a container for my leftovers, because the general tso’s chicken is awesome but there’s too much of it.
I had squash pie and wheat bran porridge for dinner. I was going to eat the leftovers, but got a little distracted. The pie is now gone.
M. came over for a visit with R. and they took the i4 out for a spin, and then they hung out for a while. I gave him a bit of the caramel slice and he loved it, so I sent 1/4th of it home with him, along with a bottle of the mustard bbq sauce from Pepper Palace. R. had cooked ribs and the rest of the package of sausages so they had that and the last of the beans from the farm share. Fridge is looking empty again, so I’ll probably cook something tomorrow.
I walked with M. I did 2 laps of 1 mile each by myself, chatting with Priestess. October movie watching for her has apparently been great, including Hocus Pocus 2, “Halloween Ends”, and “Tucker and Dale vs. Evil”. Also, “The Joker” (with Joaquin Phoenix).
I made some progress on Lego Haunted House. It’s a fun build.
I did a zoom with I. She recommends the chardonnay (“Elizabeth”) from Bledsoe family wineries in Walla Walla. Walla Walla has great chardonnays, but they run a bit oaky. That one apparently they split the time evenly between oak barrels and stainless steel, so it’s less oaky but still very buttery. Sounds delightful — I have no idea if I’ll be able to get it out here.
