So, the flight from BOS to MCO isn’t particularly long. Normally. Alas.

A. went to school, and we pulled her a little early. I’d planned this and notified the school and they confirmed they knew about it and yet still we were really struggling with communication to the English teacher. Anyway. We picked her up and headed to Logan, and there was a ton of traffic and the weather was gross kinda wet kinda frozen, very unpleasant. Google Maps routed us a weird way which was confusing, but we got there and I had a parking reservation and we got everything shifted from A.’s school backpack that we were going to bring with us. We got into the airport and the order went weird at Shake Shack and I wound up with no bun, lettuce instead and honestly it was so good that way I might do that again.

Here are my terse notes on the flight itself:

“Flight was delayed. Technical problem with sensors. Took forever to deice. Airport closed down for a while due to freezing rain. Line for takeoff grew. Did not land until around 1 am. Did not get to bed until 3 am.”

When I booked it, it was a 5:22 pm departure arriving at 8:45. It moved to 4:30 arriving at 7:55. We did not actually take off until around 10 pm, and we landed around 1 am. I don’t really remember when we boarded (later than the original 5:22 departure, but not by that much), but we were sitting in that flight longer than we would normally be in-seat for a trans-Atlantic. This was one of the most miserable flying experiences I have ever had.

Checkin to the hotel was smooth. Groceries and Owner’s Locker were delivered promptly and I remembered to get cash for tips. It’s really hard for me to sleep when I get to bed that late, and this was not an exception.
