Tuesday: OAC, car, uber
Sep. 17th, 2024 11:00 pmSo, today was weird. R. took A. in and then went to the OAC. Things went pretty well, but I was trying to answer some email from E. about the lighting and whether I wanted to keep trying to make the strip lighting in various rooms work or give up and revert to more normal lights. I was listening to J. say that they had a meeting and had great product and felt optimistic, and then N. say No It Won’t Work Because, and the word “sprinkler” showed up and J. got her bunny version of Mr. Hyde face on, hunkered down and quit talking. I half listened to N. whinge on while furiously (both meanings intended) typing a 5th and final draft email reply to E. saying, “Pendants and Flushmounts it is!”. I have no idea what his goal was and I don’t really care. He seemed a little stunned when I said I really respected and appreciated his input and all the strip lighting is now out. He tried to walk it back in a couple places, but I am completely done.
Also, RK Miles _will_ put Panolock on damn near anything, so we’re almost certainly getting some Therma-Tru doors, which is lovely because there is more selection than Masonite and I’m pretty sure they are better doors. And because they are fiberglas, still low maintenance and light on the hinges. Very very very happy and excited about that. Apparently, after the OAC, discussion with the RK Miles person revealed that Panolock is only available on 6’8” and 8’, so that simplifies _that_ set of choices. And that front door swinging out thing is finally dead, again, due to the limitations of Panolock. Love love love love.
I dropped my car off at Herb Chambers. The tire still wasn’t in, so I ubered home. I had to update my app, and entered my address wrong the second time and didn’t notice until we were nearly out of Sudbury headed towards Marlborough. Whoops! Driver was nice and I tipped in cash.
