R. and I had steak, potatoes, mushrooms and tomatoes for dinner. The steak was from lilac hedge and everything else was siena farms. Yum.
I had a great zoom with I.
Family zoom was fun.
T. moved into the dorm and hosted family zoom from there. He took a keyboard with him and intends to continue his piano lessons via zoom there. I am so impressed with him!
A. had her online playdate, first in a while. Yay!
I walked with M.
I drew both kitchens, and laid out the upper cabinets and reviewed the lower cabinets. I think it’s pretty ready to be handed over for someone to produce some price ranges. We are for sure not using O for the kitchens. I looked at a market they did, and while I really love the metal and reclaimed wood look, R. is just not interested in that for the kitchen. I thought maybe they could do the display stuff planned for the 2nd floor stair lobby, but whatever N. had in mind is totally incompatible with the windows, so I just asked to delete that from the buyout package for O. I still need to do the pantry, but then I think I’m mostly caught up, but I’ll go over the millwork list a couple more times.
ETA: T. says he did not bring a keyboard with him, but will be using one of the school’s pianos. A super cool option and a great plan!
I had another idea for my sister’s kitchen: just don’t bother with the bench or table at all, but put whatever table she wants in there. There’s plenty of space. She could even have that minimal island (6’ x 2’) and still fit a reasonable size table and chairs in there, I think. I should figure that out in more detail.
