Saturday: Chez Oeufs
Aug. 24th, 2024 02:12 pmR. went for a long bike ride out to Saint Mathieu de la Rioux / St Fabien.
A. and I went to Chez Oeufs for a 1 pm dejeuner. I would have gone a little earlier if I’d realized they closed at 2, instead of 3, but it’s fine. She got the pain dore with english custard and bananas and chocolate sauce. I almost asked to skip the custard, but then I was like, what the hell, she might like it. I gave her a lactaid pre-emptively. She did like the custard.
I got the two eggs tournes. Yum.
We’re going to go get gas and drive around a bit, I think.
ETA: We walked through the submarine Onondaga. That was fun. A. found it cramped but educational and was glad she did it. Yay!
We drove home, relaxed for a bit, and then went to dinner at Shaker (another chain). The godfather cocktail was hilariously awesome (whisky, amaretto and lemon juice). We successfully ordered manhattans, which were fine.
We arranged to check out a day early (tomorrow), and we’re going to spend some time in Sherbrooke and Compton and Martinville and then head to Jay Peak Resort. I found a three bedroom suite there.
