Monday: meeting, walk, hardware
Jul. 22nd, 2024 11:00 pmThe meeting(s) were relatively uneventful. I had sent out my massive sink and shower missive the night before, and the architect hasn’t read it yet so he’s still catching up. It’ll work out fine.
I walked with M.
I went to Period Hardware in Concord and Mack in Burlington. Mack Designer Hardware is amazing! So. Much. Stuff.! I think I’m going with Emtek’s Basel for most of the interior doors, but I’m going to try to get R. to come check it out tomorrow, and then get a couple installed in our current house so we can make sure that it’s easy to live with them.
Tomorrow’s a busy day; I stayed up really late trying to figure out how to replace my kitchen sink (a drop in that never was installed correctly, that R. attempted to recaulk with silicone but it’s just gross) without cutting any granite. If I can come up with a drop in that fits the cutout, that’s be perfect, but hard to know what sink that would be and so far I’m coming up empty. I don’t want another undermount. It occurred to me very late to look for custom options, and I found a solid surface maker, and also Elkay will do custom stainless steel and there’s another operation that will make fancy metal (like copper!) custom sinks. So, clearly that’s the easy approach. But not now.
