I walked with M.
A. got up on her own, and asked for something for a bite on her elbow. R. had a bite recently as well. Tis the season, I guess! I tried the anti itch stick again, but it was an owie. It actually helped after, but it hurt, so into the trash with that. I used the lidocaine cream and, as always, totally fixes it instantly and painlessly. I feel confident that at some point in the future, I will regret this solution, but so far, nothing untoward has occurred and honestly I just don’t get why this isn’t a more common strategy with bites (kind of is with spray on bactine, actually, but that wears off quicker and is less effective in general).
I went up to the third floor and got the last of the empty boxes I’d pulled off the shelves out and into trash and/or recycling.
I’m washing the Frozen comforter, and then I’m going to donate it, since I’ve finally found all the other comforters. Once the Frozen one is clean and out of the house, I’ll take one of the other comforters to the laundromat and have them wash it. If it goes well, I will do the rest.
I boxed up a couple GRo backpacks and addressed the box to a friend whose Theme Color is black and who does not currently own a backpack. He may hate these, but I’m not using them, and he can donate them if he doesn’t care for them. (Or regift them or whatever — they’re nice and have barely been used.)
The broker transferred over cash promptly, so I wrote the next check to the builder, so I can bring the box to the post office along with the payment and deal with all that this afternoon. Last night I went into Fidelity and set up payment for T.’s tuition. And yesterday I signed the contract for next year of A.’s school and am awaiting that bill. Apparently, if you put all the “normal” bills (utilities, credit card payments, etc) on autopay, Life Brings You New Bills to Pay. That are way bigger. So, you know, tradeoffs. Very Parable of the Talents, honestly.
A. _also_ was waiting to go to school 15 minutes early today, so R. drove her in and then picked up groceries on the way home. I have no idea what led to such an orderly and productive morning, but I’m not going to complain. And also, it was both super nice to have a friendly and agreeable houseguests and also nice to enjoy just our family group after his departure. I feel like I should arrange to have more friendly and agreeable houseguests, because the anticipation of their visit, their arrival, their presence and then their departure and subsequent absent are an incredibly delightful sequence of experiences. Obviously, the trick here is to identify friendly and agreeable in advance — and for the friendly and agreeable to want to participate in our madness, which, you, why would they. But I sure like it when they do!
This afternoon is Lighting Meeting. Fingers crossed!
ETA:
Lighting meeting went great! After, I picked out a pendant that can be used in the pool room, and I have a bunch of great options for the sconces. The pool lighting person was super helpful. No need for low voltage dimmers on any of the tape lighting, so, woohoo!!! Honestly cannot express how happy I am with how that all went.
I picked up A. She didn’t eat any lunch, but did eat some of it and some chicken when we got home. I finished off her tots and put her blueberries that she didn’t eat into a pancake and had that for dinner. Yum!
FB served me some popsockets ads, and I learned about their whole magsafe line, so I went and ordered a bunch of crap. I am very excited about the crap I ordered.
Oh, and R. dropped the payment and the box off at the post office, so I didn’t have to do that. Woot! Really great day, and T. seems excited at the prospect of creating a room in the unfinished space. He was pretty skeptical at first.
