I walked with M. and not son early this morning, because it was going to get hot.

I drove A. to school, because I was not going to be able to pick her up in the afternoon.

Then I took a nap, because I was sleepy. It was nice.

I had a long phone call with J., which was delightful.

Then not son and I made a plan. We drove to Assembly Row and found parking. I got turned around repeatedly, but we did eventually make it there, so, yay us! There was even a very nice bathroom at the parking garage. Amazing! We had a super tasty dinner of sushi at Fuji. I also had a beverage. Not son had a mocktail. Both were very tasty. Then we went to Union Square Donuts, which had one vegan option left, cinnamon sugar, which was delicious, altho then I had a ton of oil and sugar on my fingers. Oh well!

Then we went to the Lego Store part of the Discovery Center, because we were really early. I bailed after a while, went back to the bathroom, then sat on a bench in the shade and read a book on kindle (Swastika Nation, which is an absolutely riveting history of the shenanigans of Fritz Kuhn, the German American Bund and related organizations during the years leading up to and including WW2. Feels very relevant in a variety of ways). Eventually, it was 7 pm, and we went in and rode on the Buzz Lightyear style ride and did the VR coaster. The VR coaster was really goofily fun. Then we built wheeled things and tried them on the loop de loop ramps. Not son did great. I really wanted to make a trike work, and while I could get it to do the gentler parts of the ramp, and it was super sturdy, it wasn’t stable on the steep part of the ramp. Oh well! It was fun tinkering with it tho. I never build lego vehicles, so I learned a bunch along the way.

https://www.smallchangebrewing.com/ Was doing the beer; I got the last porter. It was tasty, and it was weirdly awesome having a beer and building lego and running it down ramps (the lego, not the beer!). There was some kind of karaoke / dance game going on, that we did not do, and there may have been a movie that we didn’t do, and we bailed out before 9 pm. It was fun to go, and if someone really wanted company doing it, I’d 100% go again, but I probably wouldn’t go by myself or drag other people who were not interested.

A. did NOT have algebra today, but her study skills teacher was able to help her with the math problem that R. and her could not figure out, so that’s good, and she got caught up on everything else.
