Recently, I reread “Tinker” and “Wolf Who Rules”, and followed it up with “Elfhome”, “Wood Sprites”, “Project Elfhome” and, now, “Harbingers”.
“Harbingers” ends on a massive cliffhanger. Just sayin’. None of the earlier entries in this series (or, IIRC, in the Ukiah series, altho it has been a really long time and I might have forgotten) has ended in a cliffhanger, so it was a bit of a surprise. To be fair, it seemed increasingly likely, once I was 90% of the way in, and still had no real clue what Midas was. But still. The next entry comes out in August, and who even knows if _that_ one will end on a cliffhanger.
I walked with M.
R. has spent a bunch of time going over the painting I did yesterday, after I showed him that some of it did not adhere properly. He’s resanding, and then we’ll give it another try. Some of it adhered great, but it was a pretty glossy paint and the degloss didn’t rough it up enough apparently. It’s a bummer, because it looked really good, other than the spot I totally screwed up, and which I went out to fix this morning, and discovered that some of the paint nicked easily and peeled, which is a Bad Bad Sign.
Other than that, it has been a super quiet day.
