I walked with M. Nice breeze, not too hot, and with the breeze, no bugs. Lovely! I also got a one mile walk by myself.

OAC/MEPFP meeting. The batteries have apparently replaced the utility connection and the well as The Thing That Just Never Gets Completely Done. We’ll get there. Probably.

I had a long convo with the architect going over a bunch of stuff. No runner on the main stair because the edge is curved. *sigh* The three steps down going into and through our suite are Not Readily Modifiable, altho the architect is going to contemplate flipping the secondary stair to make that less treacherous if we ever need to install a ramp. I don’t really care; there are other bedrooms in this house that have no steps if I get to a point where I’m wheelchair dependent and I don’t have someone helping me (kind of an unlikely combo, honestly). My next task it to figure out how to get some additional lighting into the pool room; there is not enough. I learned about “acoustical lighting” today, but a lot of what that involves is NOT compatible with an indoor pool. I learned about “acoustical clouds” today. I’m thinking I probably will go with some kind of acoustically transparent diffuser on a flushmount or pendant, multiplied by a terrifying number (maybe 8?), interspersed among a bunch of Whisperwaves. let the architect make it look Not Awful.

Architect is opposed to hardwood flooring in the entry, preferring tile because likely expansion and contraction in more than one direction. *sigh* I just can’t even. I got the flooring name from the builder and I’m going to talk to them about cork and it’s not going to go well and then I have to decide between probably forbo sheet marmoleum or wall to wall carpeting. I am not putting tile in there. Fuck that. I can’t figure out any way to get drapes in there, and while there is a bench planned and I’ve asked for that to be padded (and oh man am I going to track down the most upholstered thing ever for that bench), it’s not nearly enough for that space. Maybe I’ll find some decorative acoustic cloud for in there, too. Or go back to the acoustic lighting, but think in terms of UL dry for the entry.
