Tuesday: substantially less weird
Jun. 11th, 2024 10:06 pmI walked with MIL and M., and MIL carefully did not handcuff herself. But towards the end of the walk, she was pretty tilted to one side and bent over and tunnel visioning her way as she shuffle-stamped quickly home. I slowed way down; she just got further ahead. She passed M. I asked if she was hurting or tired, no. I asked if she needed to pee, nope. I told her she was leaving me way behind. I finally got her to stop at the steps to the house, and we did a little stretching, and then I asked her to join M. and me for a glass of water and some strawberries in the dining room. She settled down, quit acting all tunnel-visioned and read her book on her phone.
What happens on the walks just does not seem very safe to me. It’s better than when she was handcuffing herself, but I still feel like if she were out for a walk by herself, if she got lost, or if she chose a longer walk than she had the stamina for, she would tunnel vision and eventually fall and be very confused about what had happened. She always had terrible judgement; terrible judgment and a failing physical body is a bad combination.
I got to have a short phone call with K.
I had a delightfully long phone call with A.
I made chicken soup with the carrots I accidentally froze (and some onion, green garlic, ginger) and served that with some rice for lunch. For dinner we had some of the chili (pre-made from Walden, IIRC), and MIL had some of the squash that I cooked at lunch. I had a sourdough english muffin and some crepes.
In theory, we get the revised lighting plan tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I looked over the description of how the backup power will work, and I can see what they mean by there are still some decisions to be made there.
