Wednesday: an almost normal day
Feb. 28th, 2024 10:07 pmR is sick, so that’s a bummer.
I had a delightful conversation with J. Altho they are all still sick, so that’s a bummer.
I continue to walk, but not have an indoor visit with M. I’m still having coughing fits. I attempted to bail on therapy, but didn’t get through, so we just did it with the therapist (for her protection) and me (for her protection) masked. It went well. It was nice to not miss it, and A. is more actively bringing up topics.
I’m now caught up on NCIS (3 episodes) and TRMS/Alex Wagner, so that’s nice.
The car excise tax bills arrived. It’s really nice that you can just go to a website, _not log in_, find the bills and put them all in a cart and pay them together. Really, really nice. I appreciate this so much.
We got an update on the solar panel / battery / generator proposal and it’s everything I wanted. I was kinda wondering how they were going to handle the comparatively large number of panels, and they’re proposing a split system, so that makes sense, with 8 of the 5P batteries, which are really new now but will be less so when they are finally installed. I haven’t seen pricing or all the details, but there’s some flexibility on generator sizing and, best of all, it’s going to be a propane generator (woot!) so I’m truly getting everything I want. HVAC folks confirmed the system _they_ are proposing has a soft start system that is from the recommended maker on the solar / battery / generator side. The big bummer is, the engineers were so resistant to talking about batteries for so long that the engineers are now missing their deadline (altho to be fair, the architect’s team is NOT in the clear on this either, and the service from the utility was late in being finalized etc.). We’re really trying not to slip the start date on construction, but the concrete people need to do _their_ drawings and they need a final set to really get started.
On balance, about as good as today could go.
