In Which We Return to Florida
Feb. 16th, 2024 11:59 pmPacking!
I had a list of stuff that I couldn’t remember if I had packed. I had packed the jewelry; I had not packed masks. I had packed handkerchiefs. I managed to NOT duplicate gloves. When I transfer the contents of my regular purse to whatever I am traveling with, there are some things that stay behind. This time, the gloves correctly stayed behind. I have traveled to Florida with two pairs of gloves which I never used. More than once. That trip where it literally was freezing kinda broke me in terms of trusting that the weather would be temperate.
I had NOT packed the SunPass transponder. yikes! Glad I caught that one.
I had updated the OS and the apps on my travel ipad. I had NOT updated the apps and OS on my phone.
I did log into everything on my travel ipad. I will need to do that again on the phone before I leave.
It’s just been like that all morning.
Flight was uneventful. My new luggage is quite manageable, although A. and R. both kept leaving me behind when going down levels on stairs / escalator. Because she took the stairs, I had her luggage and mine on the escalator which is doable but tricky. Finally, I handed hers off to R. and he learned how tricky it is. He was much slower and more awkward than I had been. I monologed at them on the topic.
J and the kids had arrived a few hours earlier, so he had checked in with his own credit card and I needed to switch that. He completely misunderstood the express pass. I had him start the UO app on his phone and bought tickets for him and the kids since the desk was closed (It was around 11 pm by this point). I do not know why they did not land in his wallet on the app, but they did show up in his email so I had him screen capture them for the next couple days.
