Tuesday: getting rid of Spanish class
Nov. 7th, 2023 04:24 pmI woke up in a terrible mood and desperately needing more sleep and things got worse from there. I did go back to bed, and that helped some.
I walked with M.
While I sent headphone in with A., she did not use them or the earplugs in her Spanish class, which she had to leave multiple times. R. and I walked over to walk her home. I talked to her, and we discussed what her experience of the class was versus, say, math class which is not nearly so miserable. We talked about why she has been reluctant to drop Spanish, when we’ve given her many opportunities to do so. We came up with a plan that addressed her concerns and which I’m fairly sure the school will be very happy about. I kinda wish we’d had some of this conversation earlier, but it kept getting short circuited by A.’s commitment to taking the class. I should have inspected that commitment, because it was built on some pretty significant misunderstandings.
Anyway. I picked up the 5x7s from J., so I now have what I need to do the holiday card and photo mailings. Yay! I also bought some plant based short bread at The Bee’s Knees, which is where I met J. R. says the shortbread is very much shortbread, altho missing some of the butter flavor. He thinks people would be able to tell, but that it isn’t something to be particularly worried about offering to someone who does eat butter.
