Today, we got up a little bit later, and went over to Peddlar’s Village to look at unnecessary but beautiful things and buy some of them. We had lunch at Hart’s Tavern, which was fine. I got the fried brussel sprouts with aioli and sliced almonds. They were _really good_ altho there were a lot of them; I could not quite finish it. We went over to the Visitor’s Center to see the Peep’s Exhibit. I didn’t have any particular expectations, but holy shit, that is kind of amazing what people do with Peeps in artwork.
A. and I also stopped at the delightful Hewn Spirits, where I tried a rye and a bourbon (I bought both), a vodka and a moonshine (which I did not, altho they were both pretty good — the vodka was super neutral, and the moonshine was drinkable as moonshine goes).
We rested for a while, and then went over to Peace Valley park where we met Samantha Wilson who took our photos during the golden hour with a lovely backdrop of reservoir and trees and blue sky. It was a little chilly, but we warmed up after at Select/The Cage, where they seated us all together as a party of 8, with no advance reservation. Same meal for me as the previous night. Gotta love Tuesday evening. While we were there, we made a decision about Wednesday’s escape room, booked it and waivered everyone who would be going (not R.).
My nieces have been ordering chicken wings … everywhere, and there are always plenty to share. It’s been really awesome getting to have 1-2 wings whenever I want them. They are super excited at the high quality of the wings, which, LOL.
