Visiting In Laws
Feb. 18th, 2023 11:00 pmH. had texted back, and we decided to go out to First Watch for late breakfast at 10. MIL declined (yay, good choices!) to participate, because it is a pleasantly cool sunny February in the Villages, and First Watch is yum for breakfast. Would _happily_ come back here, or others in the chain. We had a 20+ minute wait, and A. was agitated about a pimple on her upper lip that was itching, so we went over to the Publix and bought snacks.
After that, we (my immediate family) went to MIL’s for a visit. R. and T. ran a couple errands for her (acquired wood glue for a broken wooden object, and dropped something off at the UPS location).
I talked to MIL about my conversation with her friend J., and MIL told me some more about what’s been going on for the last few days. We are in agreement for how to go forward for the next little while (bring in some additional help for when she is overwhelmed, get the medications streamlined by setting up PillPack and also doing another medication review to see if anything can be eliminated). She has some travel she is looking forward to that seems appropriate for where she is at physically, and that I think should be good for her emotionally as well. I applauded her choice to skip the overstimulating loudness of breakfast at First Watch, and told her she could decide about dinner later in the day. If she doesn’t want to go, we can bring something back for her. I think we are all going forward on the assumption that the fall was either medication related, or a panic attack, and that this plan will help either way.
A. broke into the snacks when we returned to the hotel. The rest of the visitors from breakfast will go visit MIL a little later, and hopefully leave a break between their visit and dinner. A. says the M&M chocolate chips are subpar, but the peanut butter pretzels and the cinnamon rugelach are awesome. I can confirm the cinnamon rugelach is good — it’s Lilly’s, so a familiar brand.
