Saturday: puttering
Feb. 11th, 2023 04:17 pmT. had his usual routine, which largely does not include me anymore. His basketball moved because of the broken window problem. Piano was virtual, because instructor is traveling.
I was about to walk over to CVS, when M. texted me suggesting a walk. So we had a walk and a visit, which we have mostly decided NOT to do on Saturdays because scheduling is so tricky. But this was fine and wasn’t tricky at all.
Then I did finally walk over to CVS. I wanted to buy some 3.x oz / as close to 100ml toothpaste as I could manage, since we are doing carryon only and travel size toothpaste is ridiculous. I tried to buy two paste of different sorts but wound up with one gel and one paste. Oh well! A. is fine with the paste smell so hopefully it will work out. I’m thinking that I probably should just include toothpaste in the GG order on future WDW trips and then leave the tube(s) in the owner’s locker. My sister used to order diapers and shampoo and soap and so forth with her order, when her kids were little
The other PB finally arrived, so I now have both “Spread the Love” and “Once Again” creamy unsalted organic in sachets. I’m not sure it had ever been possible to get that particular combo on the GG order, so I was usually just getting creamy “natural” (salted, not organic). But even that was getting difficult, and I really loathe Jif and Skippy and so forth. I _had_ just chucked an unopened Trader Joe’s unsalted creamy organic into my checked luggage on the last trip, which worked out great. But I’m not checking a bag anymore, and I don’t want anyone else checking a bag so that’s no longer an option. Thus, the sachets. I opened up one of each and we taste tested them. They are ever so slightly different, but both very, very good. This will work fine. They take up a fair amount of space in the liquids bag, but I am reasonably certain this is compliant, because they fit fine, and they are each under 2 ozs. Part of why there is plenty of space in the liquids bag is because I’ve got shampoo and conditioner bars that I really like, so they are now dry instead of liquid.
Other puttering: I got the bins that were mostly empty out of the closet and the few remaining contents moved along to the correct locations, including electronics recycling. Yay!
T. needed to use his ipad for his piano lesson today, and it was deeeeaaaadddd, so he had to find a long enough charging cord, and picked the one he normally packs (an Anker block). Since he doesn’t typically use his ipad for anything other than this purpose (same as A.), I set up a spare Anker charging block and hooked both ipads up to it _in the living room_ so they will be ready to go and fully charged for future lessons.
ETA:
I also ordered a replacement electric wand for the upstairs canister vac. The telescoping mechanism completely broke on the old one. I’m not 100% certain the currently available electric wand part will work, but we are close enough to certain we’re going to give it a try and see how it turns out. I’ve been meaning to do this for months, but finally sat down and stared at vacuum info until I just gave in and ordered it. Worst case scenario, I can order a non-electric, and we just won’t be able to use the electrified attachment (which we only occasionally use anyway). I know that will work, because I can swap the non-electrified one from the downstairs vac.
I also shredded some paper, and vacuumed most of the master suite.
