I walked with M.
I had a delightful phone call with J.
I did the long walk while on the phone with Priestess. It was really nice — two days in a row of walking while chatting with her, on her days off. I am so blessed that she has the time and is willing to spend it chatting with me.
T. does some volunteer work through the school, and through AB Buddies, and extracurricular organized through the school. It winds up being a lot of hours, so for a couple years now he’s been part of a large group of similar students who receive a certificate for their volunteer work awarded at a program. For the last two years, it was zoom. It was supposed to be in person last year, but omicron. This year, however, it was in person! R. and I went, but I had some kind of allergic reaction, probably to scent on the hair of the person in front of me. Pretty hair, and she kept flipping it around and adjusting the clip. I put my mask on and got a cough drop, but the cough drop dissolved and the coughing resumed, so I exited. I got a bottle of water, but it only helped a little, so I left the building entirely and sat out the second half waiting for R. to be done. It seemed excessively disruptive to leave, come back and leave again, and I had not brought allergy meds with me. Silly me! Also, R. intended to have us sit way away from anyone else, but I overrode that to sit next to T. Ooops. I should know better!
We went to Frolic and Detour after. It was comedy open mic, and honestly, there were some laughs. I may go back for some future events.
I made caramel corn! The first round of caramel I burned the crap out of and it was hard to clean the pan, however, the second time I got R. to help out and it turned out great. T. does not like caramel corn, so A. ate his bowl. I did not salt mine, but A. and R. both were like, this needs salt. Truly, I am messed up with how much I don’t want salt.
The butternut squash soup at Frolic and Detour was divine, tho!
A bunch of T.’s wish list arrived and I repacked it into Amazon gift bags (snipped the tags off from previous recipients). We also ordered some more stuff, because he got a new job at the theater, so he needs black pants, black socks and black shoes. Easy enough to do! Ah, brings me back to when I worked at a movie theater. I hope he has as much fun as I did. Or more! Stuff also arrived for A., and the new leggings worked, so I may order her a couple more pairs. They’ll take up way less packing space than her sweats.
