T. had a driving lesson. It started late, so he did go to school for a half hour before coming back. He didn’t want to, but I got him to, and it worked out well.

Driving lesson was on the interstates, and it went super well!

R. did a run to the transfer station and dropped off some child size adirondack chairs (2 pristine, 2 weathered). 2 went away as soon as he put them down. Yay!

I’m listening to Nothing Wasted (the current one about food waste was pretty good) and The New Warehouse. I am highly entertained because someone on the Enersys episode commented that everything that gets to consumers goes through the logistics industry. Obviously, depending on how you define that, probably true! Also, NOT true! The groceries from Roche Bros, yes, through the logistics industry as normally defined. But less true of the farm share, and the meat deliveries, because they are not running through the usual delivery chain. Again, depends on how you define the industry. Also, highly amusing to think about how I got so frustrated with breakdowns that I really went a long way around to reduce the number of intermediaries.

Still not growing my own food, tho, and no plans to do so.

I’ve already walked with M., early before it got too warm. No midday phone call today; it was rescheduled to tomorrow. No date night, because R. has a show to go to; we’ll probably have dinner out together on Friday instead. As near as I can tell, I don’t have anything in particular to do until my phone call with I., so I’m going to do as little as humanly possible.

ETA:

Well, I tried. However, things happened. The new countertop oven the Beast of Breville, I think will be what I call it from here on out, arrived. So I did some cleaning of the old toaster oven (also a Breville), rearranged what was on the counter and also cleaned it, and then put the Beast up. I made sure it powered up and heated up. We’ll hang onto the packaging and the other items for a bit while we make sure this thing really does work, but I feel pretty optimistic. It is beautiful and the bottom tray is mirror-shiny, which will of course not last even 24 hours.

Also, we’re doing a bunch of scheduling to figure out the rest of T.’s driving lessons, scheduled observation and try to map out when he might be ready to do his final testing. That’s exciting — it would be great to wrap this up before school starts altho that might be a little optimistic.

I listened to a bunch of The New Warehouse podcasts and also a Nothing Wasted podcast.
