Tuesday: ovens, vanities, icemakers

We had a meeting with the architect today. I knew this was coming up, so I spent a ton of time looking at a variety of kitchen related things. I learned about Speed Ovens this morning, and am very excited. If this is a successful replacement for countertop Breville and microwave, that would be super cool! If it turns out that it’s inadequate, oh well, there’s plenty of counter space.

I also researched icemakers. That’s _also_ very exciting.

I also researched vanities. That was depressing. This really is a moment where the current midcentury modern thing really makes me bananas. I am having thoughts of buying a really, really nice art nouveau sideboard (they run cheap in the really long versions, because reasons) and having the top replaced and sinks plumbed. Because wouldn’t that be gorgeous? Criminal! But gorgeous, and no one else is likely to care that I eviscerated a beautiful piece of antique furniture so I could floss my teeth in front of it. We’ll see; probably I’ll just have someone put together a craftsman / stickley / arts and crafts / mission style one and call it good.
