Sunday: breweries and distillery
Apr. 17th, 2022 11:00 pmWe went to a couple breweries and one distillery. The first, Franklin County Distillery, we probably overordered food. I bought a bottle of the 141 Rye. Friendly service; a little tricky getting the idea across to the family that we were doing multiple iterations so try not to order too much food. Apparently there’s an 18 year old woman running that kitchen and she’s doing an incredible job.
The second, Twisted Track, had garage doors and a big patio. Nice indoor/outdoor. Their deboned thighs were astonishingly good, as were the vietnamese spring rolls that I couldn’t eat because they had pickled shrimp in them. Oh well! Lots of great beer. They do 5 ounce pours and will sell you up to 6 at a time. R. got a growler filled with the Revolution IPA, IIRC.
The third, Parkway Brewing, had a food truck, Mountain Grille, and also a vegan cafe visiting for food options. The vegan brownie involved a lot of marshmallow, but was decent. T. and B. had burgers and said they were really good. Their “paddle” for the flight is a custom carved chunk of wood, bark still on, very, very, very cool. We brought home a six pack of cans and a six pack of bottles, I think one was the baltic porter and another was the stout but I may be misremembering.
