I walked with M. at 10 am, because it was almost 30 degrees outside. Very exciting! Here it is in the afternoon, and above freezing, sunny and things are melting. Do not loiter under eaves! Icicles are falling.

Sunny walk means I was feeling mildly energetic. I got out the grater and made radish - parsnip - potato hash, and cooked an egg and some mushrooms on the side. Very tasty. I had some doubts, because radish is kinda wet, however, all things considered, this is a much less odd mix of things for me to put in a hash than many I have made over the years. Not vegetarian — I used bacon fat. Because.

Since the Olympic is (more or less) done, I pulled out the second box of Lego Tulips, and assembled those, then shuffled the lego tulips and roses into a better fitting glass. I meant to find the Sunflowers, but grabbed the wrong box. I’ll do the sunflowers in a bit. I listened to some of the Nice Try podcast, second season. It’s well done (obviously, I have some quibbles, but don’t I always); I only have a couple more episodes to go.

WSJ had a finance-professional-heavy listicle with people contributing descriptions of how they manage married finances. The one new idea was an insurance sales / management person in Utah (went to BYU) who does a monthly family meeting with a “scoreboard” for the family finances as a decision making tool. It’s kind of impressive — too heavy on the detail is one real problem in this area (the only time it’s _good_ to be too heavy on the detail is if you are engaged in forensic auditing of some sort), and a scoreboard would help. The family apparently engages in brainstorming and planning subsequent to a negative month, which seems valid. Neat stuff to think about; not sure I’m energetic enough to bother with.
