Monday: dentist
Feb. 14th, 2022 11:17 pmNo sitter today, so R. picked up T. early to take him to the dentist and then his swimming lesson. They were about ten minutes late to swimming, but not too bad, really.
Meanwhile, I took A. to her dentist appointment after T. (so this all kinda sucked in terms of having to take two cars, but necessary to make that swimming lesson). On the way, she saw Crossroads and wanted to go. We’ll be doing that tomorrow. I wasn’t even sure if they are open on Monday and also, it is Valentine’s Day, which is right up there with Mother’s Day in terms of just don’t even try to go to a restaurant. I did not have to pick her up, however, I did try to be efficient getting her out the door and pre-packed snacks so she wouldn’t get too hungry and thus cranky. It seemed to work out okay.
I cooked a chicken leg quarter in the air fryer. I did _nothing_ to it. I just took it out of the package, popped it in at 360 and turned it over after about 12 minutes. I overshot a bit on temp and it so did not matter. It was utterly delicious. No salt, no spices, no added oil, nothing. Just gloriously crispy chicken skin. Mmmmmm. I made a half a sweet potato’s worth of fries (for this, I added some spray olive oil from Costco) and later I had a salad of sprouts with Old Dog Ranch walnuts and honey mustard dressing. Soooooo goooooodd. That was midday; dinner was the other half of the sweet potato. Also, there was some Ben & Jerry’s Tonight Dough, non-dairy edition.
I did walk with M. It was cold, and it had snowed, but the street was cleared enough and I just wore the ice bugs.
