Tuesday: slept in, continuing to putter
Jan. 25th, 2022 10:16 pmI slept in. That was nice. I mean, I got up to do A.’s hair, but R. brought her in so I didn’t have to do that anyway.
I put A.’s cardboard rollercoaster in the basement (confirmed later in the evening — not yet ready to get rid of it). I failed to fold the folding table up without damaging it. That was very frustrating, and R. predictably, groaned and misunderstood how I had wound up damaging it (I really did grasp the part about the ring, and yet, it still wasn’t folding correctly and I bent something before I figured it out) and that pissed me off because it was sitting there for a week after the new console table was delivered. He was like, but I didn’t know what to do about the roller coaster and I was like, you could have done what I did, just put it in the basement for later. Aggravating in the extreme. HOWEVER! The console / sofa table looks fantastic, especially with the Dutailier mission-style rocker, the mission tables, the tiffany-style lamps, brown chaise longue. I mean, really, really classy looking. I am pleased.
I lifted the top shelf on the cabinet, so that the radio antennas on the police station can be positioned correctly. I don’t think this will be a permanent location for the boutique hotel and police station — the’ll likely go on the top of the console table if more modulars join them for a full street — but it’s nice for now. I’m thinking about finding the Alt-build MOCS that convert the holiday house sets into mini-modulars. We could have a holiday row — that would be fun!
In the meantime, the Titanic progresses nicely.
I think I’m going to finally cancel Sunbasket completely. I’ve been delaying, but it’s time; there’s no real reason to continue with it, and the load of monitoring / skipping / adjusting is more than it is worth.
ETA:
Aha! There is a “pause” option! That is _delightful_! I have paused until May 1. I have no plans for the month of May, so if I’m going to resume, that’s the time to do it. Very nice choice!
