Monday: kids back in school
Jan. 10th, 2022 11:00 pmThe three day weekend being over (snow day on Friday) the kids were back in school. It was very quiet during the day.
I walked with M.
I had one of those days where I felt like I didn’t do anything, altho I can actually look around and see a variety of things that I did. Those are so weird. Anyway. The tablecloths are now clean. I worked on the Singapore lego build — it’s a really nice one. I sorted through a lot of the things that I have more or less permanently packed for travel, and removed items. I had already refilled shampoo / conditioner / lotion, but there has been buildup of This Might Be Useful, and in the interest of not tormenting the folks working in baggage at airports, I figured I’d try to reduce the load a bit. Some things came out of the charging bag, mostly, but also I edited the contents of the lanyards bag. I also took the contents of one of the Small World cosmetics bag and put it in a transparent bag, because I wind up opening and poking around in several of those bags before I find what I want. I’m not prepared to go all-transparent just yet, altho I am thinking about it pretty hard.
I also got a trash bag out, and put in it all the V1 era magic bands that had built up years ago and then just sat there after V2 came out and I bought custom bands for me and the kids. That was weirdly satisfying.
I’m still trying to figure out what I really want to do about the lanyards situation. It was _so_ handy having all those lanyards and pouches available when my sister’s family rolled up and looked at me blankly when I asked if they had their lanyards from the cruise so they could reuse them at UO. Of course they didn’t have them handy, which is fine — I usually am not quite that prepared either. But lanyards in general work poorly for A. (she doesn’t like them on her wrist, and she tends to wind up with allergic reactions on her hands and I’m just not sure she could manage a wristlet anyway). I’m still thinking about it.
