Really, what more needs to be said?

I read about 2/3rds of Nomadland and then did book group in the evening. Obviously, housing being so expensive is a big problem, and it would be a problem no matter what right now, but is definitely worsened by so many people having Issues with building housing at all, but also in the places where the jobs are. Not enough supply = escalating prices. And then some Please Don’t Cut Down Trees sauce on top of it. I am very unclear on what is going to convince us that we need to figure out a way to inexpensively but compassionately supply housing to the honestly large and growing numbers of seniors (because, demographics and time marching on) who cannot afford market rate. This is really the underappreciated backstory of Nomadland.

I started A. on Dragon Box 12+ and she did a ton of it. She was pretty antsy, and R. was gone on a long bike ride so it was super hard to focus on reading. Frustrating for both of us. I did walk with M., I did not get my long walk.
